Hadley here—calling all my hard charging, cliff dropping, powder slaying women! Historically, there has always been one or two women in a ski movie. To me, that doesn’t make a ton of sense as there are so many talented females out there. I’m constantly asked how to become pro, and while there is not an easy answer, with today’s technology it’s easier than ever to get eyes on your skiing without having to first be sponsored or win a traditional contest.
The North Face Peak2Park Virtual Competition not only offers an equal prize purse for both women and men ($65,000 in cash and gear up for grabs!), but also a place to show your own skiing and creativity.
All you have to do is film short clips of your best tricks; piece your footage together to create a short edit and submit! You can compete in the Junior (15 and under) or Open class. There are 5 categories to choose from including All Mountain Ski, All Mountain Snowboard, Big Air, Slopestyle and Halfpipe. You have until early March to get your “dream run” locked down.
Grab your favorite adventure buddy and head to the mountain. Film your best tricks from anywhere on the mountain with your iPhone, GoPro or dad’s tape recorder.
With all of this new snow, there is no better time to get out there and drop some cliffs, cruise an epic line or take some majestic powder turns.
